Great Websites Made

Below, a portfolio of selected recent work. Since 2010, we've been involved in over 40 website projects for more than 25 clients: nonprofits, small businesses, designers, writers, lawyers and law firms, and friends. All of the below have been built using a content management system (CMS) like Wordpress, Joomla, or Drupal. We provided the creative design for many of them; for others, we received design files from the client and built a site based on them. We are happy to work either way. For more details on any of these projects or anything else, we'd love to hear from you over email or via phone: (646) 450-2236. We hope that you have an excellent day.

Greater Than AIDS

Wordpress

Modern design, popup media content, jquery animations

Greater than AIDS is a public information campaign of the Kaiser Family Foundation that emphasizes what can happen when people come together to achieve a common goal -- here, the end of AIDS. The campaign wanted to update its existing website with a more energetic and engaging design.

We built out the site on the easy-to-use Wordpress framework based on a fantastic design by Free Range Studios that emphasizes movement -- slideshows, hover events, and popup flourishes.

Paladino and Co.

Wordpress

Online portfolio, clean design, slideshows

Paladino and Co is a green architecture firm with offices in Seattle and Washington, DC. The company needed to update its look on a website platform that made it easy for staff to add items to its portfolio, items to its awards list, and blog posts. Wordpress was a good internal fit for their needs, and an excellent design from Rodriguez Valle Creative met the company's aesthetic needs.

Mobile Media Toolkit

Drupal

Multilingual interface, Solr search integration, members' only section, embedded video player

For this project, we implemented a stunning design created by Tim Merrill at Wonderwheel Creative and built out a dynamic, engaging website on the Drupal platform. The site has six different content types, five different views, Solr search integration, and a multilingual language setup for English, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. And some smooth, fancy javascript flashes -- did we mention those?

Food Mythbusters

Wordpress

Video embeds, advanced taxonomies, events search

Food MythBusters was the brainchild of the Real Food Media Project, a coalition of authors, farmers, and food advocates to tell the real story about the food we eat. The organization seeks to bust the longstanding myths that keep our society tied to industrial agriculture.

Real Food needed a website to inform and engage users to action by donating, signing a petition, writing letters, or participating in a talk or meeting near them. We build out a site in Wordpress based on an excellent design from Free Range Studios. The site makes their work more accessible and appealing to their ever-growing audience.

Partnership for Palliative Care

Joomla CMS

Integration with Salsa CMS, newsroom, embedded video player, custom javascript-powered map

The Partnership for Palliative Care is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on promoting palliative care service expansion, research, advocacy and public education. Along with Douglas Gould and Company, we worked with the partnership creating a site to raise awareness about palliative care services and to help make such care more accessible to people living with chronic disease or serious illness. On the site visitors can share their stories, find helpful resources, or locate nearby pallitive care providers.

API Healthcare

Drupal 7

wooshing javascript flourishes, 10+ different page templates

We were approached by Wonderwheel Creative and its partner Ridge Marketing to take a modern design and build out a Drupal website based on it. The result, three weeks later, was the API Healthcare website, a full-fledged website with the power of Drupal under the hood. The site was designed with a different look for many pages: the homepage had a unique layout, as well as internal pages for each of the company's major programs, and there was a different look for press release listing pages. Drupal, however, can handle these different templates with aplomb.

TinkerCo

Wordpress

easy-to-admin online portfolio

One of our favorite design partners, Julie of TinkerCo, asked us to build out her web design concept into a website that could serve as both a blog and an online portfolio.

Wordpress was an easy choice for this type of functionality. Now, it's simple for Julie to add blog posts or projects to her portfolio, and the site automatically takes care of formatting everything for her -- image sizes, links, slideshows, and the rest.

Andrew Solomon, Author

Wordpress

Distinctive style, interactive listing of articles, upcoming events

Andrew Solomon is a writer and lecturer on psychology, politics, and the arts; winner of the National Book Award; and an activist in LGBT rights, mental health, and the arts. His new book, Far From the Tree, was coming out soon, and he needed a website to tease it and serve as a digital hub for his work. We used Wordpress to create an attractive, stylish site that reflects his work.

Clean Currents

Joomla CMS

Homepage slideshow and newsfeed, javascript-powered forms, members' only section

Clean Currents, a green energy company supplying wind power to the mid-Atlantic region, needed a new website that they could use to encourage clients to sign up for wind power. Not only did it need to look good, but the company wanted clients to be able to sign-up online -- and to be able to export those sign-ups to a flat file format that their power company partners could import into their systems seamlessly.

We got it all done using Joomla, the easy-to-use content management system.
